Fishers Renaissance Faire

Each October, the Sister Cities Association of Fishers hosts the Fishers Renaissance Faire. This event was created to honor the relationship between the town of Fishers and its sister city Billericay, England. Faire-goers are immersed in the history, food, lifestyle, and culture of Elizabethan England, and the event proceeds are used to fund the Sister Cities Association of Fishers, which promotes cultural understanding through academic and cultural exchanges and scholarships.

The Renaissance Faire is held on the grounds of Conner Prairie and features authentic Elizabethan food, games, crafts, dress, and music, as well as Shakespearean performances and a real joust. Attendees are encouraged to wear their own renaissance costumes to the event (you might even run into Allen Williams in tights), and there are knighting and princess ceremonies for children. Meet knights in shining armor, damsels in renaissance dress, court jesters, and authentic artisans at this fun and educational event for all ages. If thou be desirous of additional information, visit the Fishers Renaissance Faire website at http://www.fishersrenfaire.com/  or the Sister Cities Association of Fishers website at http://www.sistercitiesoffishers.org/default.asp?p=1 .
